Michaela Hořejší, M.A.
has been recognized as one of the most accomplished costume designers and stage designers (according to critical acclaim in a number of published reviews as well as her in-depth profile in Ptáčková, V., Příhodová, B.: Czech Theatre Costume, or in Rochová, L.: Fashion) of her generation.

She has graduated in scenography (prof. Ján Zavarský, prof. Jana Preková) at the Faculty of Theatre of the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing in Arts in Brno) 2003.
Since 1998 she has been busy working both in film - costume designer in A Son’s War (directed by Steven Edel), Post Coitum (Juraj Jakubisko), Rock podvraťáků (Karel Janák), Malé radosti (Kinga Debska), Chyťte doktora and Vysvlečenej deník (Martin Dolenský), Zoufalci (Jitka Rudolfová) and Bobule (Tomáš Bařina) among others - and television: Past na Ježíška and Škola ve mlejně (Karel Janák), O bílé paní and O království z nudlí a štěstí bez konce (Martin Dolenský), or the tv series Mazalové, První republika (Biser A.Arichtev), Modré stíny (Viktor Tauš) (crimi series)and the fairytales Princezna a písař and Korunní princ and film Jiná láska. She has also created self-promo campaigns for TV Nova (2006 – 2011) , Tv Prima 2014, 2015 and many videoclips and commercials.
Ms. Hořejší has also took a creative part in more than 70 theatre pieces, namely Cunning Little Vixen (directed by J.A.Pitínský), awarded by Cena Sazky a Divadelních novin, as well as The Death of Hippodamia, nominated on the Cena Alfreda Radoka as the Theatre Performance of the Year 2006. In 2009 she was the sole author of both the costume design and scenography for Michal Horáček’s lyrical Kudykam, performed in the State Opera in Prague and the Moravian National Theatre in Brno. She has worked for theatres in the Czech Republic (National Theatre, State Opera, Divadlo v Dlouhé, Švandovo divadlo, Divadlo na Fidlovačce, Roxy, Hudební divadlo Karlín, alll in Prague, as well as National Theatre, Janacek Opera and Městské divadlo Zlín, all in Moravia), in the Slovak Republic (National Theatre Bratislava, DAB Nitra, State Theatre Martin, State Theatre Košice), and in Austria (Theater Brett).
She is also the author of a number of artistic projects, among many others Second Skin (2004) and Orlando – A Life in Reflections, presented in the Conference of Multi-Medial Art IMAGINA, Monte Carlo (2006).
She is married and have daughter Julia.
